Sport relies on the commitment of volunteers who give their time and energy to provide opportunities to people, and to ensure the continued success of clubs.
Sports volunteering can cover a range of activities from coaching, player development, running training sessions through to club administration, fundraising and the organisation of events, competitions and leagues.
By giving your time you can develop yourself in a number of different ways:
Sporting activity and success would not be possible without quality coaches, officials and volunteers. Sport needs all of us to help talented sports people to achieve their dreams.
If you would like to become a sports volunteer or if you are a coach, or are considering becoming one we will help you.
The Play Your Part support scheme is a service for sports coaches, volunteers and clubs. The scheme offers advice, guidance and examples of good practice for those who wish to develop and reach their sporting aspirations.
If you are a qualified coach or volunteer, or you aim to become one in the near future, register your details with us to be included within the Play Your Part directory scheme.
Signing up to this scheme allows coaches and volunteers to get up-to-the-minute information about courses, job vacancies and funding opportunities.
Your details will also be listed in our directory listing Stockton Borough sports coach and volunteer information which is utilised by schools, leisure facilities and clubs in the area.
The scheme lists details for each volunteer or coach including relevant and up-to-date qualifications, Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) clearance and courses undertaken by the coach or volunteer, for example, Child Protection training or first aid qualifications.
