Local History

Picture Stockton was originally created to give the people of Stockton access to the large collection of local images held by our library and museums services.

These collections have been supplemented by the many contributions we have received from site visitors over the years. As well as being able to view the images, visitors are encouraged to add their own comments and stories, creating a real social history of our area.

Visit the Picture Stockton website.

Heritage Stockton is the latest offering from the Library service brings together articles and stories commemorating the Borough’s rich and diverse Heritage, from the early settlements to the growth of the industries of the twentieth century, the development of the railways, the contributions to the sciences and the arts and the part we played in two world wars. We welcome contributions that add to the Stockton story.
