Digital library services
We offer a range of online library services and have computer facilities in each of our libraries for members to use.
You need to become a library member to use most of the below services, visit our join a library page for information on how to apply for a membership.
Online library catalogue and events
This service is available 24 hours a day to digital library members with your library card number and pin. You can browse our library catalogue, extend loan periods on borrowed books, reserve items, download eBooks to your computer or mobile device and keep track of your library loans.

eResources
If you are a digital library member you can borrow a wide range of eBooks and eAudiobooks at any time with your library card number and pin code.
Libby - the library reading app
Libby is a free app that lets you borrow eBooks and audiobooks from Stockton‑on‑Tees Libraries. Stream using Wi‑Fi or mobile data or download titles to read or listen offline. All you need is a valid library card and PIN.

Our Stockton Library app is free and available for iOS and Android users.
You can use it to:

Driving Theory Pro
With a Stockton-on-Tees Libraries membership, you can get unlimited access to Driving Theory Pro. Driving Theory Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips, and an online version of the Highway Code.

Public computers and Wi-Fi
There are computers available in each of our libraries that you can use if you have a full library membership.
For more information about locations, acess and availability visit the public computers and wi-fi webpage.
We provide:
- free access to the internet
- email facilities and Microsoft Office
- free Wi-Fi access - bring your own devices
- scanning facilities (some of our libraries provide flatbed scanners, please contact your local library to see if they have one available before travelling)
Please note: Public PCs will automatically close 15 minutes before the library closing time, so please save your work in good time to avoid losing data.
Digital support and learning
Across the UK, many people find the digital world overwhelming and need practical, friendly support to use it confidently. We offer support for complete beginners, guidance on staying safe online, digital drop‑in support sessions, easy introductions to new technologies, and free access to digital learning platforms such as Learn My Way.
You do not need to be a member of the library to use this service.

Self service printing
Need something printed? Boarding passes, CVs, return labels, or any other document, our libraries make it quick and simple with Princh. You can print straight from your phone, tablet, or laptop with our self service printing.
Maker Station
The Maker Station is Stockton Central Library's dedicated creative‑technology space. It's designed to help people learn new skills, explore creative technology, and connect with others in a supportive and social environment.
