If you think you need help with your everyday needs to help you to live independently, then the first thing to do is to get in touch with the First Contact Team for an assessment.
They will complete a referral form on your behalf and forward your request to the community care assessment team who will then visit you to assess your needs and recommend the best solution. A home carer can assist with a wide variety of daily living tasks, including personal care and household tasks such as dressing, washing, getting to the toilet, preparing meals, supervising medications, doing laundry and shopping.
