We believe that every person in our community has a lifelong right to be treated with dignity and to receive the attention, care and support they require. So we are working with a wide variety of partners to make sure that people have a greater say in the care they receive and that everyone is protected, and are able to receive the care and support they need to live independently. Everyone deserves to be treated well.
We provide a wide range of services and support for adults. In these pages we’ve listed these services by type of service and by type of client to help you find what you need.
The Care Act came into force at the beginning of April 2015, our Leaflets are in production and will be available shortly. For further information in the interim telephone our helpline on 01642 524500.
Leaflets can also be made available in other languages, large print, Braille or on compact disc (CD). Please let us know if you would like to view the leaflets in one of these formats.
This page will be updated with information about our policies and plans so that you are able to keep up to date with key developments.
The Council's Adult Services and Health Select Committee monitor and evaluate the way in which we work and how policies are being implemented and developed.
The aims and principles we apply in developing our services are set out in our Adult Social Care Strategy 2017-20.
Every year we produce a Local Account (Are you being served... well?) of our Adult Social Care Services to set out what we are doing to improve social care for adults in the Borough. If you prefer, our First Contact team can post a printed Local Account document to you, contact 01642 527764.
Our Carer Support Services Strategy details the guiding principles behind the support offered for carers as we work to ensure Stockton residents have access to appropriate advice, support and guidance in their caring role.
An adult programme board has been established to review adult services; the current programme and priorities can be found in the Adult Services Big Ticket Programme Newsletter.
