Councillor Helen Atkinson

Councillor Helen Atkinson represents Billingham West Ward and was elected in May 2015.

I was born in Teesdale Avenue, Billingham and have lived in the West Ward since 1968.  I retired in 2009 from Sembcorp, Wilton after 42 years service to the company.

I was elected to Billingham Town Council in 2007 as I believe I can make a difference. Currently, I am on my third term of office with Billingham Town Council and when Mike & Mary Womphrey decided to retire, I wanted to carry on the excellent service given by them both and so I put myself forward for Billingham West Ward in the local elections.

Having been duly elected, I will endeavour to do my very best to service the ward and the Borough.

When not working on council business, I enjoy reading crime novels, watching TV and catching up with family and friends.  I am also trying to be more healthy and walk each day around the Ward to talk to residents.
