Tees Valley Health Scrutiny Joint Committee (TVHSJC) - 3 Health Select Committee Members represent Stockton Borough Council at the Joint Committee formed to scrutinise health issues that impact on cross boundary issues or have wider health service delivery.

North East Regional Joint Health Scrutiny Committee - The Chair of the Health Select Committee represents Stockton Borough Council on this regional committee.  All 12 North East councils are represented.    

The Committee's first in-depth review was an innovative investigation into the health needs of the ex-service community.  This won the Overall Impact Award at the Good Scrutiny Awards 2011. The judges considered it an imaginative way to embrace regional working. The Committee was applauded for taking on such a sensitive subject and making a real difference to the ex-service community. 

The final report of the review can be found below, and contains 47 recommendations.  These are based on the outcomes of the work of three workstreams set up to consider the following issues: physical health needs, mental health needs, and socio-economic needs.  The final reports of the workstreams can also be found below.
