The Council's performance management framework includes regular quarterly reporting of performance. Each quarterly report is presented to the Corporate Management Team (CMT), the Executive Scrutiny Committee and to Cabinet Members for information. The report contains quarterly information on the Council's corporate basket of indicators and six-monthly progress towards the Council Plan. The report also includes a financial summary and information on the complaints and commendations as well as results from any consultation with the public that has been undertaken.
Key performance indicators from the Council's corporate basket of performance indicators (PIs).
The attachments below present a comparison between the latest performance (e.g, at three, six, nine months or year end), the actual results for previous years, and the target for the current year.
The graphs use colour coding to highlight trends in individual PI performance in two ways.
- whether our historical trend shows negative (red arrow) or positive progress (green arrow)
- whether performance is in line with or has achieved the end of year target (green star), within 2% of target (blue circle) or off target (red triangle)
Ongoing development of corporate performance monitoring
Performance monitoring reports continue the process of strengthening the Council's performance management framework. In addition to providing important details on performance across a number of important areas, the report is also designed to draw managers' and Members' attention to those areas where further action or closer monitoring is required.
The quarterly monitoring report process is subject to continuous review and we are constantly looking at ways of improving the report layout and frequency of reporting.
