Major Emergency Incident

Remember, in an emergency always dial 999

If there is a major emergency incident anywhere in the area the response will be coordinated by the Cleveland Emergency Planning Unit who provide an emergency planning service to the four Borough Councils of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland to ensure preparedness in the event of an incident. Through this arrangement a dedicated Emergency Planning Officer works with the borough to ensure that the response is co-ordinated across all departments and with outside organisations. An Emergency Planning Officer is on call 24 hours per day.
