Local Democracy Week 13th - 17th October 2008
Local Democracy Week is a national campaign which has been running for the last ten years. The main aims of the campaign are to raise young people's awareness and understanding of:
- how local government works; and
- how they can get involved in democracy in Stockton-on-Tees.
The main focus of this year's activities will involve young people and take place during the official Local Democracy Week although Democratic Services will use be using the whole month of October to promote local democracy to all age groups.
The following programme of events have been put together to provide those who take part with a flavour of the decision making role of the Council.
