Local Councils, MPs, Parish/Town Council Contacts
Most local government services in the Stockton Borough area are provided by a
single, 'unitary' authority - Stockton-on-Tees Borough
Council.
The Council's policies are set by elected Councillors through a modernised
democratic system for decision making. This includes meetings of the full
Council, a Cabinet and various other Committees, all of whom operate to strict
standards of public service and scrutiny.
In addition, some communities are also served by Parish or Town Councils, which
provide their neighbourhoods with certain services and a local voice.
