Equality Impact Assessments

Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is the tool Stockton Council uses to ensure the policies which shape our work are ensuring equal access to all our services. They look at whether working practices are likely to have a positive or negative impact across the diverse communities in the Borough.

EIAs enable us to plan and tackle negative effects across the six strands of diversity. The outcomes of a service must be the same for all users, however, the way they receive the service may differ.

Providing services which do not discriminate also leads to better quality services and increased satisfaction.
