Disability Advisory Group work
The group works in three main ways:
Meeting - The whole group meets three or four times a year to make sure
everyone is up to date on what is happening around disability issues and to
provide information on future activities. For details of the next meeting
contact Barbara Campbell at using the diversity contact details.
Newsletter - We produce a newsletter three times a year including the dates
of forthcoming meetings of the group and events of interest.
Working with Officers - Members of the group work closely with officers to
advise them about the difficulties they have and how we can improve access
to services. This can involve members meeting with the officers or visiting
sites or buildings with them to help us build in the needs of disabled
people.
The group are also involved in monitoring the progress of the Disability
Equality Action Plan.
What's In It For Group Members? We hope members of the group will be keen
to take up the chance to shape how Council services are delivered and
improve access, not just for themselves, but for others across the Borough.
Why not come along to one of our meetings to find out more.
