My name is Jim Beall and I hope you find the information on my pages useful and informative.

I was elected to Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for the Roseworth Ward on the 7th May 2007 after more than 30 years working in local government. Most of my experience during those years is working in a social care environment. I started as a care assistant, moved into social work and eventually into an operational and strategic management position. Since leaving local government in 2004 I have undertaken consultancy work for local Councils/NHS Trusts, including the Healthy Communities Beacon Council promotion and I am a Peer Reviewer for the IDeA's Healthy Communities programme. I am the founding Chairman of Stockton's Voluntary Support Group for Diabetes (Allied to Diabetes UK www.diabetes.org.uk). Details of the Support Group's meetings can usually be found in the What's On section of this council web site and a copy of our current leaflet can be downloaded from the bottom of this page. However if you can't find the details please feel free to contact me for information. I have extensive Community & Voluntary Sector involvement in governance and representation to Stockton's Local Strategic Partnership: Stockton Renaissance and the Children's Trust Board.

When I was elected as a ward councillor for Roseworth in May 2007 I gave up a position as Vice-Chair of North Tees Patient & Public Involvement Forum and instead I am now a member of the Health Select Committee. I am also a member of the Planning Committee, Children and Young People Select Committee, the Housing Review (Introductory Tenancies) Panel and the Local Joint Consultative Panel (Liaison with the Trades Unions) on Stockton Council as well as a member of the Fire Authority. I am also the Council's representative on Catalyst, Stockton's voluntary development agency. I am a governor at two local schools and am involved in a number of local voluntary organisations including work as the Chair of the Eastern Ravens Trust childrens charity. I couldn't possibly do all of this without the support and understanding of my loving wife, Pauline. When I have any free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, holidaying abroad, trying to keep fit and sadly I am a season ticket holder for Middlesbrough Football Club.
