Clark, Michael & Carol
Carol and Michael Clark, ward councillors for Grangefield have been married for 32 years
and have three grown-up children. They have lived in Grangefield for more than 30 years.
Carol has worked in a refuge for women and children who experienced domestic violence, hostels for homeless people and as a teaching assistant/transition worker in several primary and secondary schools. She also ran her own food business before retiring.
Carol has been a governor at Oak Tree Primary School for more than 13 years and is now local authority governor at Grangefield School.
Michael read History at Brasenose College, Oxford before working as
a journalist and public relations manager. He has been a freelance PR consultant for the past five years and is a local authority governor at Our Lady & St Bede RC School.
They are very keen to support and encourage voluntary and community activity in Grangefield and have begun work on several initiatives. They have established an over 50s drop-in at the Grays Road Institute, The Green Project for environmental activities and the Grangefield community council as a forum for all residents. In the pipeline are an on-line project and a community safety initiative.
They hold regular charity coffee mornings that have so far raised more than £1,200 for local and national organisations.
Residents living in the Grangefield Ward are represented in the UK Parliament by James Wharton MP.
