Councillors Virtual Ward Surgeries

A growing number of our Councillors have requested the facility to have their own Councillor Web Page; where they can inform their constituents about the activities within their ward, and can refer them to other helpful or useful information. (Details of those Councillors with these facilities are listed under the "Also of Interest" heading)

We are conscious that it is not always convenient for the public to contact Councillors by telephone, or in person at their home or at a ward surgery, due to their own work/lifestyle commitments. Therefore, several Councillors are now providing a Virtual Ward Surgery facility, via their Councillors web page, to allow members of the public to submit queries/requests for information by e-mail; and to allow the Councillor to share that query and response with other constituents in the form of web page news that is likely to be of wider interest to the community. This could be anything from a request for environmental improvements (road/landscape works) to be carried out; or for advice about a particular Council or related service; or even a request for facilities or a suggestion that constituents form an interest or social group within the community.

At the same time, via this facility, the public will also see questions and answers posed by other constituents, and perhaps will find the answer to their own question/request for information on the web page, without need for a reply from their Councillor.
