Housing Land Transfer
As part of the housing stock transfer process Stockton Council has been identifying areas of public open space which would be more appropriately owned and maintained by Tristar Homes.
All the land will remain as Public Open Space and will still be accessible by the general public. If, sometime in the future Tristar wish to change the use of the land there would be extensive public consultation and normal planning procedures would be followed.
Full details of the Public Open Space earmarked for inclusion in the transfer are available from: housing land transfer consultation - map.
It should be noted that some areas may be excluded, however, the Council will continue to update the above link in order to keep the general public fully aware of the process.
The deadline for public comments is 1 December 2010.
The ownership and management of the Council's 10,400 homes will be transferred to Tristar Homes on 13 December 2010 following the ballot earlier this year when 89.6 per cent of tenants voted in favour of the transfer.
