About our Publication Scheme

Introduction

The aim of this Publication Scheme is to explain what information Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council ("the Council") makes available to the public, and wherever possible provide an easy method of accessing this information.  Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act"), every public authority has a duty to specify what information they publish (in terms of information "classes"), how the information is made available, and whether it is available free of charge or upon payment.

Searching the Publication Scheme

The Council's Scheme describes the Classes of Information that the Council already publishes or intends to publish.  Having found reference to an information item, you may then be able to access it through this web site.  Where direct access through the web site is not possible you will be told how the information can be obtained.

Charging for Publication Scheme items

The Council's Scheme specifies whether the material to which it refers is, or is intended to be, available to the public free of charge or whether a payment will be required before a copy of the material is provided.
