Stockton Supports Compact 10th Anniversary

This year's Compact Week takes place from 1 to 8 November 2008 and marks the 10th anniversary of the Compact, the agreement which sets out shared commitments and guidelines for working between government and the voluntary and community sector.
Through a week-long programme of events, media activity and engagement opportunities across England, this national awareness week aims to promote the Compact and engage national Government bodies, regional bodies, local authorities and other public sector partners who have Local and Regional Compacts
Stockton's Compact is the agreement between Stockton Renaissance and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Stockton Borough.
Organisations from both sectors have signed up to the Compact and in doing so have commited themselves to complying to a set of shared principles and joint commitments to achieve acceptable standards of working.
The objective of this Compact is to develop good working relationships, trust and mutual accountability so as to enhance the partnership between Stockton Renaissance and the Voluntary and Community Sector to achieve best value from their work for the benefit of all local people.
