Western Area Partnership

The Renaissance Western Area Partnership covers the areas of Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Kirklevington, Long Newtown, Elton and surrounding villages.

The Chair of this Partnership (Cllr Maureen Rigg) represents the Western Area Partnership on Stockton Renaissance, this ensures that residents within the Western Area Partnership boundary are included within the decision making structure for the Borough.

Membership

The Board's membership is currently comprised of thirty representatives, which are drawn from the following two sectors:

  • Voluntary and Community Sector - 17 members
  • Public and Private Sector - 13 members

Each member is considered an equal and active partner and holds office for a fixed period of 2 years, commencing 1st April.

The Western Area Partnership Board is responsible for -

  • Providing a local area based forum to consider Western Area based regeneration issues and to assist Stockton Renaissance in the development and implementation of strategies for the Borough.
  • Providing a structure to link with the thematic partnerships and the opportunity for community and voluntary sector representatives, representatives from Parish Councillors and ward councillors and people from the private sector to work with service providers to improve service delivery in the Western Area.
