DANCE, dance, dance at this year's Stockton International Riverside Festival (30 July - 3 August) thanks to the Without Walls consortium.
Without Walls is funded by Arts Council England and comprises festivals in London, Bristol, Manchester, Brighton, Norwich and Winchester as well as Stockton International Riverside Festival.
It aims to present and develop the work of the next generation of British performance groups working outdoors.
Frank Wilson, Artistic Director, said: "There are some real stand-out shows in this year's Without Walls programme the public will love. It's exciting to see so much young British talent in the festival line-up."
This year, Without Walls has a distinctly rhythmic feel with a whole range of dance styles being presented ranging from tango to hip hop.
The passion of the tango gets an extra dimension thanks to extraordinary lifts provided by Wired Aerial Theatre who will perform on Church Road Plaza on Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 August. Acclaimed Argentinian choreographer Brenda Angiel ensures the show has an authentic Latin feel.
The Tavaziva Dance Company presents Beautiful People - a unique combination of contemporary and African dance styles. Don't miss the lively percussion beats and radiant costumes when they perform on Stockton High Street on Friday and Saturday, 1 and 2 August. In the same location, Gulliver's Boom Box by Company Fierce offers a funky and hilarious take on street dance styles since the 1970s.
The Urban Playground, by Prodigal Theatre, is a high energy exploration of the relationship between the body and built environment through parcour (free running), contemporary dance and break dance. Head along to the Urban Playground at Church Road Plaza on Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 August.
Other Without Walls performances include Underground by Motionhouse Dance Theatre, Full Circle by the World Famous with Slovenian musician's Terrafolk and The Séance by Paschale Straiton.
