Sustainable Community Strategy 2008 to 2021

Stockton's Sustainable Community Strategy, sets out our vision and ambitions for the borough from 2008 to 2021.

The strategy aims to ensure a better quality of life for all people living in Stockton-on-Tees, now and for our future generations to come. It was developed following extensive public consultation and engagement over the summer of 2007 and reflects the priorities, concerns and ambitions of all Stockton's communities.

However, there are a number of challenges and changes currently facing the organisations responsible for the delivery of the SCS.  Once all of these changes have taken place it is likely that there will need to be a fundamental review of the SCS.  Therefore, it is timely to consider a pragmatic approach to reviewing the current SCS, rather than a fundamental review at this time.  Consultation will take place with Stockton Renaissance, thematic groups and the Area Partnership Boards during June 2011 to consider a review of the SCS and a delivery plan.

Sustainable Community Strategy

The refreshed version of this Strategy will be available on these pages during September 2011.

Local Area Agreement 2008-2011

The Local Area Agreement 2008-2011 formed a performance contract developed between the Council and its partners through Stockton Renaissance. It was the delivery plan for the first three years of our Sustainable Community Strategy (up until March 2011).

Progress against the targets included in the agreement was previously reported to Stockton Renaissance twice a year.
