1 - Northern area partnership

What is the northern area partnership?

The northern area partnership board covers the areas of Billingham, Wynyard, Wolviston and outlying areas.

The chair of this partnership (Val Scollen, Roscoe Road Residents Association) represents the northern area partnership on Stockton Renaissance, this ensures residents in the northern partnership boundary are represented in the decision making structure for the Stockton borough.

Role and function

The Northern Area Partnership Board is responsible for:

• Providing a local area based forum to advise and support Stockton Renaissance in the development and implementation of regeneration programmes and public sector services for their area. 

Membership

The board's membership is currently comprised of 28 representatives, which are drawn from the following two sectors:

• Voluntary and community sector - 16 members
• Public and private sector - 12 members

Each member is considered an equal and active partner and holds office for a fixed period of two years, commencing 1 April.
