What is the eastern area partnership?
The eastern area partnership covers the areas of Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick, Hilton, Maltby and surrounding villages and brings together representatives from the public sector, voluntary and community sector, local business, local agencies and residents associations to give local people a chance to influence services provided within the area.
The partnership meets every month is consulted on and discusses a wide range of topics including the redevelopment of Thornaby Town Centre, Mandale housing redevelopment scheme, youth provision and other issues of local importance.
Role and function
The eastern area partnership board is responsible for:
- Providing a local area based forum to consider Eastern Area based regeneration issues and to assist Stockton Renaissance in the development and implementation of strategies for the Borough
- Providing a structure to link with the thematic partnerships and the opportunity for community and voluntary sector representatives, representatives from parish and ward councillors and people from the private sector to work with service providers to improved service delivery in the Eastern Area.
Membership
The partnership is currently made up of people who represent a variety of organisations, including Five Lamps Organisation, Friends of Tees Heritage Park, Village Park Resident Association, Ingleby Barwick and Thornaby Town Councils, Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick Ward Councillors, Cleveland Police and North Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust.
