Running a business from home

The government announced in November 2010 that it would be encouraging social tenants to set up businesses from home.  It wants Councils and Housing Associations to provide help where appropriate to social tenants that want to set up their own businesses from home.  You can access information on the Housing & Neighbourhoods webpages under 'Whats New'.

Housing benefit changes

The Housing and Neighbourhood Partnership is carrying out work looking at some of the impact of recent Housing Benefit changes.

Local Decisions: A fairer future for housing

The government has released a consultation paper on its intention to make major changes to housing including; the way social housing is allocated, they types of tenancies granted to social housing and how local authorities discharge their homelessness duty.  A summary of the consultation is available on the Housing and Neighbourhood Partnerships website.
