Scouts AGM 1 | Scouts AGM 2 | Scouts AGM 3 | Stockton, Thornaby & District Scout Council

This is another event which is our second time of attendance due to our extended Mayoral Tenure.  Marjorie and I arrived at the Claireville Hotel to be greeted by Allison Bone, the District Commissioner and Fergus McLellan, the Secretary. We also met the leaders from Hartburn Sea Scouts who visited the Town  Hall on Thursday 19th May. We met several other leaders from events we attended during the year.

Last year the Scouts had just taken over a camp site called Pybus near Kirby-in-Cleveland and were looking to develop it over the last year. We had the update on the site and the builders are now on site and expect to be finished in 10 weeks' time.  We have been invited to an official opening in September when we will be able to see all the improvements. It is also a possibility for the Church Lads and Girls Brigade, of which I am a leader being able to use the site for a weekend.

The AGM started and soon passed before it was time for Allison to present long service awards to some of the Scout Leaders. A pleasant evening ended with a short speech from me in which I praised the work of the Leaders and the dedication to the development of the young people.
