This will be my final entry in the Mayoral Blog as the new Mayor, Councillor Paul Baker, will be installed as the next mayor of Stockton-on-Tees. My day started off really well as I was having my breakfast when the phone rang and a voice said "Grand-dad, you have been a fantastic Mayor, and I love you very much". This was the message from my grand-daughter Emily, and really gave me a buzz. Kevin, the Mayor's Attendant, picked up Marjorie and I and also Paul and Diane, the new Mayor and Mayoress, and took us to the Tabernacle. We were shown into the West Lounge where coffee was being served and where we welcomed all the civic guests. The Stockton Councillors had a photograph taken of the full council before the meeting started.   put on the mayoral robes and all the civic guests were lined up and we processed into the main hall and took our seats. The annual meeting business was conducted and the new mayor elected by the Stockton Councillors. It was then time for Councillor Baker and I to change the robes and the mayoral chain. After all the business the meeting was closed and we all enjoyed a buffet lunch.
