Mayor of South Tyneside Charity Casino Night at the Roker Hotel,
Sunderland
Marjorie and I arrived rather early for this event and we had to wait for
more of the Chain Gang (Mayors) to arrive. We had a nice refreshing drink
before going into the ballroom and taking our seats ready for dinner. We
both enjoyed the meal and we were serenaded by a duet after the meal.
It was time for the raffle tickets and tombola before the casino session
started. We all bought some gambling chips so we could play roulette, cards
and blackjack which we all enjoyed as you could only lose the chips you
have bought and not a lot of money. There was a prize for the person who
had won the most chips, and our meagre winnings weren't equal to the
thousands of chips accumulated by the winner.
After another pleasurable evening we said our goodbyes and left for
home.
