Ferryhill Wine Tasting Evening 1 | Ferryhill Wine Tasting Evening 2 | Ferryhill Wine Tasting Evening 3 | Ferryhill Wine Tasting Evening 4 | Mayor of Ferryhill's Wine & Cheese Tasting Evening

Marjorie and I arrived at St. Luke's Church, Ferryhill and were met in the hall by the Mayor, Councillor Peter Atkinson and his wife, the Mayoress.  As it was a charity evening the were quite a few of the Chain Gang (Mayors) already in the hall. We were given a sheet to score each wine and how much we enjoyed it. Each wine was described and we were given a small glass to try and score. The Vicar gave us the descriptions and checked on the score for each wine. The scores were carried on for the rest of the wines that we tasted. We also had the usual raffle and also a different challenge to float a small balsa wood plane to see how close you could get it to a bottle of whisky. Both Marjorie and I were quite useless at being pilots and we didn't win any prizes on the raffle. There was quite a selection of cheeses for us to try with fresh bread and biscuits, which we all enjoyed.

Well another enjoyable came to an end as we headed for home.
