Shildon Charity Evening | Shildon Charity Evening 2 | Shildon Charity Evening 3 | Shildon Charity Evening 4 | Mayor of Shildon Charity Evening at Shildon Civic Hall

Marjorie and I were welcomed by the Mayor of Shildon, Gareth Howe, and his wife in the reception room with quite a few of the Chain Gang (Mayors) from the surrounding area. We have been to so many events with the Chain Gang that we are all friends and enjoy each other's company.

We all took our seats in the main hall where there was the usual raffle and tombola stalls and we did win a prize on the tombola. The meal was up to it usual standard which we enjoyed as it had been a long time since our lunch. The entertainment was by the "Motown Miracles" and the songs were from our era so we could relate to them. Everyone was invited to dance during their performance to work off the meal.

The evening raised over £1,000 for the Mayor of Shildon's charities and we were all happy to have contributed to it. It was soon time to say our goodbyes and leave for home.
