Holocaust Memorial Service 1 | Holocaust Memorial Service 2 | Holocaust Commemoration Service

Marjorie and I were welcomed to the Middlesbrough United Reformed Church by Margaret Thompson where we were joined by Ian Dalgano and his wife, the Mayor and Mayoress of Thornaby Town Council, Ray and Marjory Goddard, the Mayor and Mayoress of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Sir Stewart Bell and the Deputy Chair of Hartlepool Borough Council.  Reverend Martin Ramsden gave the address and covered not only the Holocaust events during the World War II, but others such as Serbia and the Sudan.  The final prayers were given by 92 year old David Simon who stood for this even though he had just had a hip replacement.

After the service we all walked down Linthorpe Road to "The Inn off the Park" for a buffet lunch before departing for home.
