Ferryhill Carol Service 1 | Ferryhill Carol Service 2 | Ferryhill Carol Service 3 | Mayor of Ferryhill Town Council Carol Service

There was still quite a lot of snow in the countryside as we were driven to St Luke's Church in Ferryhill.  We were welcomed by the Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Peter Atkinson and his wife, in a warm church hall.  More of the chain gang (Mayors) arrived before we were shown to our seats in the church.  During the service we were entertained by the children from the Broom Cottages Primary School and the St Luke's Church Singers.  The music was provided by the Ferryhill Town Band and the church organist.  The vicar tried something new with having the band and the organ both playing the last carol together and it worked quite well.

After the Carol Service we were invited for refreshments in the Church Hall, and what a spread it was.  It was the Vicar's grand-daughter's birthday and she had her photograph taken with all the chain gang, and she was so proud.

We said our goodbyes and left for our drive home.
