Redcar and Cleveland Civic Ball |

As it was a sunny evening Marjorie and I had a pleasant journey to Guisborough Hall, for the Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland's Charity Ball.  We met the Mayor Brian Briggs and his wife and several other civic dignitaries at the reception.  After having been in the company of the other Mayors and Chairmen several times over the last couple of weeks, it is like meeting friends again.  It was a surprise to meet Paul and Mary Kirton as they had just returned from their holidays in Goa, India.  We all enjoyed a lovely dinner before the speeches and toasts.  There was the usual raffles and tombola to raise funds for the Mayor's charities, Zoe's Place and the Great North Air Ambulance.

The entertainment was the Middlesbrough Blues and Jazz Band which we found rather loud for the size of the room.  There was another room where all the photographs were taken that was quieter and you could talk to other people.

We left about 11.30pm after saying goodbye to everyone.
