Today Kath and I attended the 2008 Children's Book of the Year presentations at Stockton Library. It was wonderful to see so many school children present. This was the twelfth year of a very successful and popular event and over 25 schools had taken part. The books shortlisted this year were Raven Boy by Pippa Goodhart, The Tygrine Cat by Inbali Iseries, The Robe of Skulls by Vivian French, Gideon the Cutpurse by Lynda Buckley-Archer and Oswald and the End of the World by Andrew Strong. The overall winner was The Robe of Skulls. A couple of the authors were present to talk to the children and it was great to meet them. Kath and I enjoyed meeting everyone.
