It was the "Busk Idol" finals in Stockton High Street in the afternoon, where eight finalists had been selected from all the entrants. The four "look a like" judges were Ozzie Osbourne, Cher, Britney Spears, and John Lennon. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the finalists, all of whom will be able to play in the High Street, but one stood out - Jake Holt. Jake is only 15 and is one of my constituents that I know from the youth surgery I hold with fellow Councillor, Julia Roberts.

When I went up onto the stage to present the prizes it was with real delight and excitement that I could present first prize to Jake. So it sounds as though shopping in Stockton is going to be a much livelier affair.
