What Can We Offer You (as an Employer)?

SALARY

Our salary scales are currently reviewed nationally on an annual basis. Each post is graded and you will be paid at a point within a grade that will be clearly explained to you at the offer of appointment stage and will be detailed in your Written Statement of Particulars.

JOB EVALUATION

We have recently completed an exercise to grade all jobs using a Job Evaluation Scheme. This is to ensure that salaries are set in a fair and equitable manner.

HOURS OF WORK

If you are appointed to a full time post your working week will be 37 hours. However, we offer many opportunities to work on a flexible or part time basis.

LEAVE ENTITLEMENT

Your actual level entitlement will be explained to you when you are appointed but as a general rule for a full time officer who works 5 days a week the leave entitlement is 26 days. This rises to 31 days after completing 5 years service.

This is in addition to Bank Holidays.

Holidays and Bank Holiday entitlement for part-time employees are calculated on a pro-rata basis,

In addition we offer Maternity Support Leave, Paternity Leave and Adoptive Parent Leave. Provisions for parental leave and special leave are also in place. The purpose of granting such leave is to enable employees to address problems and commitments outside the workplace which have a bearing on their welfare and ability to perform their duties.

FLEXIBLE WORKING

We offer a number of options to help ensure you can balance your working life with your personal commitments.

Flexible working patterns - job-share, working term-time only, reduced hours and home working are some of the arrangements available depending on the nature of the job and the needs of the service delivery.

Flexi-time

Some posts offer the opportunity to work flexi time, this means that at either end of the compulsory "core time", a flexible band operates during which an individual can make a choice as to his/her time of arrival and departure, according to the needs of the service.

Pension Scheme

The Teesside Pension Scheme is a "first class" contributory occupational pension scheme which is available for all employees, however many hours they may work. All employees are automatically entered onto the scheme unless they choose to opt out in which case they may take out a private personal pension plan or contribute to the State Earnings Related Pension scheme
