Changing the website's colours

Exact instructions will vary according to your operating system and browser. If in doubt, or if your browser is not listed here, please see your browser's website.

Internet Explorer

  • Go to Tools > Internet Options
  • Click on the Accessibility button
  • Check Ignore colours specified on web pages
  • Click OK

The website will now be using the colour scheme that you have on your computer. If you are happy with this, click OK to return to the browser.

If you still want to make changes to the text or background colours:

  • Click on the Colors button
  • Uncheck Use windows colors 
  • Click on either the Text or Background button
  • Select a colour of your choice
  • Click OK.

Note: if you cannot do this, it may be because your computer settings cannot be changed. Please contact your local IT support for further help.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Open the Options window by going to Tools > Options (Windows users) or selecting the Firefox menu > Preferences (Mac users)
  • Select the Content tab
  • Click on the Colors button
  • Uncheck Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above
  • Click on either the Text or Background button
  • Select a colour of your choice
  • Click OK
  • Refresh your page to see the changes you have made.
