A bus specifically designed with a seating area that is accessible without the need for negotiating a step. Particularly useful for parents with children/pushchairs, people with a physical disability and the infirm.

A bus stop with a higher than normal kerb that allows people to access low floor buses without needing to negotiate a step. Particularly useful for parents with children/pushchairs, people with a physical disability and the infirm.

How many stops have been converted to low floor bus stops?

Approximately 350 stops have been converted (38%). In 2007/08 at least 30 additional bus stops will be upgraded - taking the total to over 41% of the stops in the borough.
