First, ring Town Centre Management & Markets Service on 01642 527569. We'll take details of what you sell, and then check to see if we have any vacancies for your product. There is currently a waiting list, but certain lines are not fully represented and these would be fast-tracked onto the market as soon as a pitch becomes available. Next, if you are successful, you will be invited to stand as a casual trader for a few weeks. If at the end of that time, both parties are happy to continue, you will be offered the opportunity to become a regular trader as soon as one becomes vacant. Pitches are made available on a daily licence. The Council reserves the right to allocate pitches where it deems most suitable but we endeavour to keep you on your 'usual' pitch once you become a regular trader. Stalls cost £20 per day for a 10ft x 12ft pitch. In addition, traders make a 50p contribution to the traders' Promotions Budget. Stalls can be provided for casuals but once made permanent you will be required to purchase your own stall. We currently have more room at our Stockton Friday market, at Billingham Monday market and at Thornaby Thursday market than we do at Stockton's bigger Wednesday and Saturday markets. Traders who join us and stand these other markets will be given preference when pitches become available at the Wednesday and Saturday markets. |
