How can the Anti-Social Behaviour Team support witnesses

Witness Support for Victims of Anti-Social Behaviour

Complainants are allocated with an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer who is familiar with the local area and will oversee their case until the situation is resolved. Contact is maintained with the victim or witness on a weekly basis or more often if diary sheets are submitted or if the complainant requests additional support. In some cases we may involve a Housing Support Officer to visit and link in additional sources of support as appropriate.

We liaise closely with the Police and Enforcement Team who submit reports to the Anti-Social Behaviour Team for cases we are investigating. We may also involve victim support where appropriate.

When a case is due to go to Court we will offer the following measures:-

  • Accompanied visit to the Court to familiarise the victim / witness with the layout and process of Court
  • Link witnesses and victims together to support each other
  • Increase contact with complainants
  • Maintain contact after the Court case
