Who is eligible for a Renovation Grant?

Renovation Grants are currently only available for properties in the Parkfield Ward (which also incorporates the Mill Lane area) and the Victoria ward in Thornaby. If you do not live in either of these areas we will still keep your details on our renovation grant enquiry list. Grants are limited to a maximum of £20,000 and assistance is only given to undertake works where a property fails to meet the statutory requirements of fitness standard. All applicants are subject to a means test and could be expected to contribute towards the cost of any work.

Renovation Grants are subject to the available funding and policy in force at that time.

All grants are subject to a 5 year grant condition period, which could result in the Council reclaiming the grant monies paid, if the conditions are breached within the 5 year period.
