How can I claim Housing/Council Tax Benefit |
|
You can obtain a benefit claim form from our Benefit Service Office, 16 Church Road or from any of the Tristar Housing Centres or from one of our Council Tax Offices.
If you claim Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), a Housing and Council Tax Benefit claim form will normally be included in your claim pack. Complete and return it to the Department of Work and Pensions who will then forward it to us with the details of your Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based) entitlement. You may still need to complete one of our own Housing and / or Council Tax Benefit claim forms if we need extra information about your home and rent. You should also use our own claim form if you are not receiving or claiming Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based).

We always try and work out your benefit entitlement as quickly as we can and you can help us by completing your application form in full and providing all the original documentation that is asked of you.
Our opening times are 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m. on a Friday
