To meet the Governmet's Decent Homes Standard a home must: a) be fit for human habitation b) be in a reasonable state of repair c) have reasonably modern kitchen and bathroom d) provide a reasonable degree of thermal comfort To ensure that Enhanced Home Improvement Assistance helps to make homes decent we have produced a list of works which will contribute towards acheiving this standard from which owners can choose the improvements they feel will be of most benefit to themselves. The types of work on offer include: - new roofs
- rewiring of electrical installation
- new UPVC double glazed windows and doors
- new central heating systems
- boiler upgrades
- provision of burglar alarms and other security measures
- major repairs/replacement of main building elements, such as floors, walls, damp proof courses etc.
