I am on a low income. Can I get a reduction in the amount of Council Tax I pay?

You may be entitled to Council Tax benefit. Benefit is worked out by comparing the amount of money you have coming in each week with an amount of money the Government says you need to live on. This amount will depend on how old you are, if you have a partner, how many children you have and if you are disabled. To make a claim telephone the Council Tax Office on 01642 397108 or Housing Benefit Helpline on 01642 393829.
