How can I get hold of a copy of a General Licence for an animal movement?

Movements of sheep, goats, deer, cattle and pigs can normally take place under a General Licence which sets out the rules which must be followed.

Inspectors will make random checks to make sure the conditions of the General Licences are being met. If they find that you are breaking these rules, your right to move livestock under the General Licences could be suspended. If this happens you will have to apply for Individual Movement Licences before you move animals from your premises.

All General Licences are available from your local Animal Health Divisional Office or from the DEFRA website
