Will there be clear guidance on the provision of smoking shelters?

As long as smoking shelters are not enclosed or substantially enclosed, they should be lawful. EHO's will advise on "enclosed" and "substantially enclosed" and on potential noise or litter problems from shelters. Planning should also be consulted on 01642 526022 or e-mail planning@stockton.gov.uk as smoking shelters are likely to need planning permission.
