How do I apply for a place at a Secondary School?

Due to changes in the law, all parents are now required to complete a preference form even if this is for your local school. The procedure is explained in our Primary & Secondary Education 2008 - 2009 booklet.

There is a lot to consider when choosing a Secondary School for your child and would recommend that you read the leaflet Choosing a Secondary School in Stockton-on-Tees.

When should my child receive information about transferring to secondary school?

Your child will be given a secondary admission pack week commencing 8th September 2008 by their primary school. Included in the pack will be a common application form that should be completed and returned in the envelope provided by the closing date 24th October 2008.

All forms must be returned to the Admission Section even if your preference is for a voluntary-aided school.

If you do not receive the pack, please contact the Admission Section on 01642 526605/528546

What happens after the closing date?

The procedure for Secondary allocations is explained in our Primary & Secondary Education 2008 - 2009 booklet. If you are in any doubt about any part of the process, please talk to the Admission Section on 01642 526605/528546 for advice. This year applications will be allocated using Equal Ranking. This means that all preferences put down on your common application form will be treated equally. However, we will try to meet your highest ranked preference.
