What is raising achievement and performance?

What is RAP?

The Raising Achievement and Performance Team is made up of specialist teachers and support assistants who will help schools deal with children who have learning difficulties.


What help can be provided for children with learning difficulties?

For children with learning difficulties

  • Help schools identify, assess and provide for children with special educational needs
  • Give teachers and parents advice and support children who have difficulties in learning basic skills such as reading, writing, spelling and maths.
  • Offer schools teaching support
  • Offer advice and support to pupils with specific learning difficulties
  • Respond to referrals from the statements panel when the ask for advice and support
  • Training schools staff in the relevant special educational needs issues.
  • Provide a range of centre-based courses
  • Offer advice about up-to-date language and maths resources.
