How are places decided in community or controlled schools?

Our borough is divided into areas known as 'admission zones'. An admission zone is given to each school within our borough and where you live will affect which school this is.
If you want to know which school's admission zone you live in, contact School Admissions on (01642) 526605 or use our Interactive Admission Map at and look at Education Interactive Map. We will give you maps of the admission zones if you ask by ringing us on (01642) 526605.

Each school has a number (the admission number) of pupils it can accept in each year group.
You can find details of schools' admission numbers in the Primary & Secondary booklet.
Every local authority must decide how they will allocate places in schools. Our admission policy is also in our booklet. You will need to look at this before deciding on a school.

To check if you should be applying for Primary or Secondary School please check the admissions website.

Our website shows key dates for the next round of applications for Primary and Secondary School in September 2012.
