What happens if I cannot get a place at my preferred school when applying for a Reception or Secondary place? |
|
If we cannot agree to your preference, we will write and tell you. We will then enter the name of the pupil on a school admissions waiting list if it is a Community School. You will need to check with the VA/RC School if they hold a waiting list. This does not affect your right of appeal. You can find more information about your rights of appeal in the next section. If we accept a pupil at a school as a result of an appeal, we will take their name off the admissions waiting list. If a place becomes available at the school of your choice, we will give places to children on the admissions waiting list in line with the admission conditions. - If your child is due to start Secondary school in September 2008, they will be taken off the waiting list two weeks after the term begins (14 September 2008). - If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2008 or January 2009, they will be taken off the waiting list two weeks after the term begins (12 January 2009). We will offer your child a place at another school. Wherever possible this will be your second preference. This applies to community and controlled schools only. Voluntary-aided (church) schools please check with the school direct to see if they have a waiting list. |
